We have a brand spanking new banner all about Skins and a background of all shows (but it does look insanely distracting so we'll see if we like it) 

Also we just figured out how to put videos on (I know dumb really) 

But now instead of links we can now show you on this very blog! Yayy

Which means that Skins US will (hopefully) be posted on here (Late Tuesday)

Episode 1 review!

Well the 3rd generation is certainly interesting...

Even though it had mixed reviews we loved it! So different from all the other series! But some people didn't like it because it was very....safe. 

Not much riskiness in this episode unlike last series but the characters are different and very interesting 

My person fav's are Alo and Rich whatta bromance...

Next Thursdays episode is all about Rich so stay tuned for sneak peeks!

Do you wanna write for skins series 6?

YESSS? well now you can with the new competition!

The details:

You must be 16 - 22 years old on day of submission. We would like you to write us a short comedy-drama which is:

• Maximum 2000 words
• Minimum 3 characters
• Maximum 5 locations (where your action is set)
• You should write the scripts using the demo program of 'Final Draft' (an industry standard script writing program).You can download it from the E4 website (Link below)

Here are a few things to remember:

Read up on how to structure and present your script as this is very important - there are loads of free Internet guides and books out there. Download TV & film scripts too. Read as many as you can; they will really help you out.

Write a story you think needs telling - you can always tell when people care about what they are writing.

Try to think and write visually. When writing for the screen, what we see is more important than what we hear.

Get your friends to read it and ask them to give you constructive criticism.

Write more than one draft; you need to be able to look at your writing critically. When you have finished your first draft, leave it alone for a couple of days and then come back to it. Chances are you will find things that you want to change.

Do not use any Skins characters in your script!

The process:

Every script that meets the entrance criteria will be read by Company Pictures appointed script readers. They will then judge these scripts by the following criteria:

• Comedy
• Story
• Character
• Pacing
• Originality

They will narrow the entries down to 50 scripts. These will be read by the Skins script department and whittled down to a short-list of five, using the same judging criteria.

These five entrants will then be interviewed over the phone, by Company Pictures with a Channel 4 member of staff present. Each will be asked the same questions. These questions will be agreed between Channel 4 and Company Pictures.

Based on the conversation and the criteria above Company Pictures will pick the winner with a member of Channel 4's Drama Department.

The winner will be contacted by phone and will have 7 days to accept the prize or an alternative winner may be chosen.

SKINS US downhill?

Ooooh I guess this is karma for making a horrible remake.

Following the lead of Taco Bell, General Motors has pulled their advertising from MTV's Skins, according to the Parents Television Council, who are single-handedly leading the crusade to get the show canceled for its overly-racy content. 

I'm guessing they haven't seen skins UK? 

The UK version isn't beeped out, and is MUCH MORE racy 

Just shows how the UK is a little more... rebellious than the US

The sooner this series gets cancelled the better!

Skins US episode 1

Who watched SKINS US last night?

MEEEEE!

But since I don't live in America i had to watch it online... 

and well it was um...ok. well shit.

The only character that is interesting me is Tea but all other characters are poorly played...

Especially the American Effy....jeeez (and she looks like a young drunk Mischa Barton?)

But so called it improves in the next episode so I will stick around to watch...

Here is a sneak peek description of episode 1 of the brand new series!!!

SPOILER ALERT: If you don't want to know what happens don't read below!!

 Episode 1: Franky

It’s Franky’s first day at Roundview. She’s just moved to Bristol from Oxford and she’s determined not to be a loner any more. Think again; her alternative boyish style immediately singles her out. Mini is quick to get in the first joke, backed up by bezzy mates Liv and Grace. To make matters worse, Franky accidentally floors Mini in a muddy and vicious hockey game. Whoops.

Franky tries to blend into the background, but is befriended by farmboy Alo and metal Rich, who think Mini is a total witch, but y’know, a hot witch, the kind you’d like to shag. Mini warns her not to hang around with such dicks, and invites her to hang with them instead. Keep your enemies closer and all that…

The girls go back to Franky’s: Mini digs for dirt and a few emotional weapons to stick in her arsenal and uncovers some painful memories Franky would much rather leave behind her in Oxford...

Sounds amazing!

Skins Spoilers!!!!!!!!!!

Well we say spoliers there more like character descriptions but in more detail...

Dakota Blue Richards, who plays Frankie Fitzgerald, said: "Frankie starts as an outsider and has lots of conflicts with Mini. She's grown up in the care system and never had a family. She now lives with two adoptive gay dads. There's also a sex scene that hints as Frankie's dark past."  

Alex Arnold, who plays Rich Hardbeck, has the task of taking on the show's metalhead, explaining: "Rich is  - as his name describes - really middle class.
He's tried to escape by wrapping himself in the lyrics of slayer. He's a metalhead, so I wear a long wig in the show."  

Jessica Sula, who stars as Grace Violet, is the show's resident female heartthrob, and said: "Grace by name, grace by nature. 'She's really fun to play. Her character is inspired by iconic people, like Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly."  

Sean Teale, who plays Nick Levan, also described his character, explaining: "Nick's the rugby captain. Mini is his girlfriend. On my first day I was stood in tight purple boxers getting puked on. And I smashed up houses on my last day."

Freya Mavor, who plays Mini McGuinness, said: "Mini is very determined and a bit of a bitch. Kelly Brook plays my fitness instructor. It makes sense, since she's so hot. It was funny working with her; the crew had their jaws by their knees."

Sebastian D Souza, who plays Matty said "Matty is ambiguous within the group, which is why he doesn't have a surname. He affects each of the characters without meaning to."

Layla Lewis, who plays Liv Malone, added: "I'm from Bristol and for the first series the casting director came to my school, but I chickened out of the auditions. 'I'm pleased I eventually went for it. I based Liv on me at 16, because back then. I wanted to be cool, too."
